New Access Arrangements from 7th March 2022

ROCKCLIFFE FIRST SCHOOL: ACCESS ARRANGEMENTS FROM 7 MARCH 2022

Following the relaxation of Covid-19 restrictions announced during the half-term break, we are able to invite parents and carers back into our outdoor space at drop-off and collection times.

We are, however, determined to maintain the safety of everyone on our premises and to ensure that each child is collected by the appropriate person, so we would ask you please to follow the arrangements listed below.

We appreciate that these procedures might not be ideal for some parents/carers, for example those who have children in both the EYFS and KS2, and apologise in advance for any – hopefully, very short – delays you may experience. However, we would ask you to bear with us whilst we trial this system, which we truly believe will be safer and more convenient for almost all of you. We would ask also that you do not allow your children to ride their bikes or scooters within the school grounds or to climb on the multi-use sports area, due to accidents and near-misses that have taken place in the past. Finally, please remember that dogs are not permitted on the school site. This is a local authority decision and beyond our control. Thank you!

Nursery families will use the Nursery gates to access the grounds and drop off their children at/ collect them from the external Nursery door. We will do our best to ensure that the area does not become too crowded. Please bear in mind that some people may still prefer to maintain at least one metre’s distance from others at this time. The existing timings of 8.45 and 11.45 for the morning session, and 12.30 and 3.30 for the afternoon, will remain in place. The gates will open 5 minutes before each of these times.

Reception families (from both Classes 1 and 2) will use the Reception gates as at present. Both gates will be in use from 8.40am to allow a one-way system within the outside space. Parents and carers will deliver their children to/ collect them from the appropriate external classroom door. If they have children from Classes 3 to 8 with them, they will then use the blue gate into the main playground to access the appropriate drop-off/ pick-up spot. All Reception children should be dropped off at 8.45am and picked up at 3.05pm (gates will open at 3.00pm).

Key Stage One families will use the main playground gates to access the site from 8.45am then wait in their designated playground space (one for each of Classes 3, 4 and 5) for collection by the class teacher. Parents and carers will then leave via the OOSC gates (or move to the appropriate KS2 spot with any remaining children). All KS1 children should be dropped off at 8.50am and picked up at 3.10pm (gates will open at 3.05pm).

Key Stage Two families will use the main playground gates to access the site from 8.50am then wait in their designated playground space (one for each of Classes 6, 7 and 8) for collection by the class teacher. Parents and carers will then leave via the OOSC gatesAll KS2 children should be dropped off at 8.55am and picked up at 3.15pm (gates will open at 3.05pm).
